Classic series Doctor Who figures

These are neat for people who remember the classic Doctor Who...what that means is if you're old like me. I really like the Doctor figures, this would be great as a set with all the Doctor's from Hartnell to Tennant.
Some cool monsters also, each figure comes with a part that goes to make up the Robot figure below. These are due for release on 30/08/2008

Saw these the other day in Tesco's (Coulby Newham if you're interested Andy) and went into giddy little geek spasms as I was previously clueless they were being made. Still love Davisons outfit to this day.

Cool Nick, thanks for the heads up, I may take a trip over. I was going to wait until Forbidden Planet to get them in to take a look at, I wonder how Tesco's have got them early !?

Nice to see they've included "Talons" in the collection. Great as that story is, I can't see shopkeepers selling vast quantities, as with the more recognisable figures, except to those of us who either own the DVD or possess long memories!

Must ... have... Zygon!

What's wrong with me? I don't even like Doctor Who all that much.

Very cool figures.

Why is there a figure of the System Lord Yeuh (from Stargate SG1), as a child, in the second pic?

I do believe someone has dropped the ball there!

Then again, maybe it's a crossover set. Y'know a kind of WhoGate set.

Whoops!: that sounds a bit too much like a conspiracy being uncovered.

What was that about Russell T Davies, Mother?....

If these had appeared mid-70's i could've died and gone to heaven and be content.
Now though... dunno.
Is it because i'm that much older, or we're so used now to so much more accurate and sophisticated merchandise (over the old Weetabix card figures) but i found most of them to be, well, crap.
My two favourite monsters and what do we get? A smiling Zygon. A spot-on Sea Devil facially but what's with the hideously out of scale string vest?
Appears there that i'm ungrateful, and i'm not. Its just i'm chuffed to bits that they're FINALLY producing original series things, but disapointed they didn't go all the way with it.
