Star Wars interview from The Mike Douglas Show

The Classic Television Showbiz blog has posted interviews with Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrsion Ford from The Mike Douglas Show July 20th 1977 'Mike welcomes guests from a new movie called Star Wars'
Click on the picture above to take you to the interviews.

Ah those where the days !! It's great to see the fresh faced cast, but it makes what Star Wars has become as a franchise seem a world away from where it started.

Star Wars 30 today !

I first remember seeing a clip of Star Wars in 1977 on the News at 5.45 here in the UK. It was the clip when they're fighting the Tie-Fighters after escaping the Death Star in the Falcon, as a 10 year old I was totally amazed by what I was seeing. I started buying Magazines like Starburst and going through the Newspapers my Dad brought in for clippings about this film. Hard to believe that was 30 years ago. Pity he fucked things up big style with the Prequels and the Special Editions.

I could have went with a Star Wars poster for the pic, but hey I thought this pic of Carrie Fisher was way better !

Carrie Fisher Named Biggest Nerd Crush

Carrie Fisher's portrayal of Princess Leia topped a recent Maxim.com Hit List for Hottest Comic Book/Sci Fi Character.

The poll conducted by the men's magazine in February, named Fisher above Gillian Anderson's "Dana Scully" character as well as The Matrix's Carrie Ann Moss (Trinity).

The list rounded out with Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica) in fourth, Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), fifth; Famke Janssen (X-Men), sixth; Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager), seventh; Aeon Flux, eighth; Jennifer Garner (Alias), ninth; and Natasha Henstridge (Species).
