The People Under the Stairs - Remake

I'd read a while back, and it's listed on the IMDB, that there was going to be a sequel to Wes Craven's 1991 horror film The People Under the Stairs, slated for 2010 the film is due to star A.J. Langer who played Alice in the original. Now in a recent interview talking about the remake of Last House on the Left, Craven says "There's a pretty high likelihood Rogue would like to remake The People Under the Stairs as the next film we make,"
Wes Craven was inspired to write this film after seeing a real-life news story about parents who locked their children up inside their house, never allowing them outside, according to the trivia I found on the IMDB, it makes you wonder if the recent true story about Joseph Fritzl in Austria is the reason they've decided to do a remake ?!

I remember seeing this movie in the theater and thinking how odd it was that Everett McGill and Wendy Robie were the husband and wife in the movie and they were the Hurlys (husband and wife) in Twin Peaks...uber creepy.

Also, glad to see you included the "Leather Suit" that 'the man' wore...one of the creepiest scenes I've seen in a movie...you know...when he grabs himself just before his wife calls him...ew...

I caught this late night on tv once long ago and absolutely loved it. Great film. Completely odd, almost bizarre fairytale like otherworld in the walls with its own bad wolves and wicked step mothers. Great stuff.
