Moon is an SF film currently shooting at Shepperton Studios. Directed by Duncan Jones the film stars Sam Rockwell.
Astronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter while stranded on the moon for a three-year period.
IMDB
Jones is the son of David Bowie, his full name being Duncan Zowie Heywood Jones, know to some as Zowie Bowie. Jones says he a huge fan of Alien, Outland and Silent Running and that's the sort of look and feel he's going for. The sets for the moonbase have a nice look from what we got to see in the report, one or two of them reminded me of the Hyperdrive sets, and like those sets which I visited during series 1 in Manchester, the sets on Moon look to be very self enclosed. They appear to have marking that are very reminiscent of those in Alien and Outland.
The report said that the set shooting was almost complete and then they were moving onto green screen work. The film has a release date of May 25th 2009, so quite a while to wait. I'd love to see a really nice low key SF film with an interesting premise rather than an overblown FX epic. Hopefully Moon will be a good movie, I think Sam Rockwell is a cool actor, and the report says in this film he gets to play clones.

That even looks like the same font as Aliens for the stencil on the wall.
Zowie and super zowie, as that girl in captain caveman used to say.
Doesn't Zowie look like his dad in that cap at the bottom of your montage? I guess you could say he's "Loving the "Alien""!
Nice. This looks like an interesting film. I'm sorta hoping that more movies will come out that are trimmed down budget wise. I think (and this is just my own theory) that a lower budget forces you to concentrate on story.
Seems to be in the same vein as SUNSHINE-which is not a bad thing. I guess it's hard to be original these days with 'space' fx but SUNSHINE had some great work in it.
I do like the clean look they've gone for as opposed to the overly used look which can wear a bit thin after time.
This looks like it'll be right up my street, being a big fan of films like Silent Running.
Definitely reminds me more of Silent (makes me cry like a baby) Running than Alien. Either's good though.
