How did the head of the Statue of Liberty get into the middle of New York City on the poster art for
Escape from New York ? Did the artist think the statue is actually in the city and not on Liberty Island ?! Is the statue one of the New York's convicts ? :)

perhaps a charva on holiday from Newcastle had decided to try and steal the statue thinking it would make for a good water feature next to their burnt out car.
Not fully understanding the concept of depth or perspective they soon discovered it was bigger than the ones they had seen for sale in times square.
Maybe Escape from New York is a prequel to Planet of the Apes somehow, and in thousands of years time Charlton Heston finds it ?! Maybe not !
Good question, and one this feeble minded fool has never even bothered to ask, hell I'm too busy complaining the thing doesn't appear in the film. People like me are probably why they still make Halloween films while John Carpenter doesn't get to make something as good as The Thing again.
Hell of a Poster though!
