Robocop (1987)
A Nightmare of Elm Street (1984)
Friday the 13th (1980)
The Karate Kid (1984)
Weird Science (1985)
Footloose (1984)
Flashdance (1983)
Fame (1980)

Arthur is probably due a decent remake (Clive Owen's outing a few years ago was lamentable) but Romancing The Stone?!? It shouldn't have been made the first time round!

Much to my annoyance, they're talking about Russell Brand playing Arthur !!

Oh no way can they remake Weird Science!

Ha! I was JUST discussing this exact list with a coworker! Weird!!

And yes, we do not need - nor want - those remakes.

At the risk of once again sounding like a contrary arse - Friday the 13th? As a horror fan I actually think that ones a good idea, though in reality its more just another sequel than a remake. The last 5 Jason movies just took the piss, even sending him into space! What harm can a straight up horror 'remake' do the series?

As for the others, the only thing most have going fr them is nostalgia so what the point of a remake is I have no idea. Go remake a film that was a good idea but was executed terribly.

Have you noticed all those films are from the 80's ? They'll soon be moving onto the 90's at this rate.

How can it be to your annoyance that Russel Brand is playing Arthur? Presumably you weren't looking forward to a remake... or where you?
