Protesters have appealed to the British film industry to honour the chimp which appeared in the old Tarzan films.Cheeta the Chimp has worked alongside stars such as Marlene Dietrich, Humphrey Bogart, and Greta Garbo.
Campaigners claim the Hollywood ape deserves recognition and have been protesting outside the BAFTA HQ in London.
A BAFTA spokesperson told ITN that although Cheeta is clearly "much-loved", the organisation does not honour animals.

When you see some of the people who get BAFTA's then why not ? :)
If Russell Crowe and Jamie Foxx can both win BAFTA's for Best Actor, then I'm damn sure that a trained monkey should be in with a shout.
We should get a petition started to get that great ape an award.
He must be 500 years old now! I really can't count by the way.
