The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag

Just read news that Alex Proyas (Dark City, The Crow and I, Robot) is adapting Robert A.Heinlein's The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag into a movie. The novella was originally published in an edition of Unknown Worlds magazine in 1942 and later released as part of a collection of short stories in 1959.

Why is the doctor so disturbed by the
mysterious brown substance under Jonathan
Hoag's fingernails ? Could it really be the dried
human blood it so closely resembles ?

What does Hoag do during the daylight hours ?
And what is the brutal Brotherhood of the Birds ?

It's been a long time since I read this story, but I look forward to seeing any of Heinlein's work adapted to the big screen, I'll have to dig out my copy of the book and give it a read again.

That could be really cool! I liked all three of those movies. A lot of people slammed I, Robot for veering so far away from the original, but I hadn't read it since high school so I dug it.
