I used to love this show whn it was on, I have a few episodes on an old VHS compilation but finally it's coming out on DVD. Play.com have it here £29.99 Free Delivery.
Two of the voices in the UK version were by Garrick Hagon who played Biggs in Star Wars and Mark Rolston who played Drake in Aliens.
Drawing heavily on diverse influences such as Star Wars, Japanese Anime and Gerry Anderson's various 'Supermarionation' series, this stellar series ran for twenty-four half hour episodes on UK TV beaming to our TV screens every Saturday morning starting in October 1982. The English version's theme song was written by Paul Bliss of The Moody Blues, and was also famously covered by Queen member Brian May and Eddie Van Halen.

I Know I used to watch this every Saturday (was it on after Tiswas?) Yet the only thing I remember is that when the little fat one had a cold and a snot bubble came out of his nose.
The question remains, should i pay the cash to relive that televisual slice of magic?
I believe so.
Could have sworn there were lyrics to the theme tune though. However as my memory recalls them consisting of merely 'Star Fleeeeeet! Duh duh duh duuuuh Star Fleeeeet!' this may be the product of my own devices.
Very tempted!
I love this show.
NO WAY!!!!! AWESOME!!! BEST NEWS EVER!
On which album can I find Brian May's cover, Andrew?
Here's the link to the album as listed on WIKI Star Fleet project
