OK now I'm sure this be popping up on site's and blogs all over for the next day or so. Here's the first picture of the USS Enterprise being built from the new Star Trek film by J.J. Abrams.Not sure why the ship is being built on Earth, or so they say. I'd have assumed it was made in orbit, anyway it looks to me a lot like the Enterprise from Star Trek: The Motion Picture from the saucer section, though the Nacelle's which we can see look like the original ships more. Don't really know if this'll be a good or bad movie, I'm sure it'll divide a lot of Star Trek fans for sure and I doubt it'll win that many new ones.

It can't be as bad as nemesis! Honestly, I don't know what happened with that movie.

Hmm. I suspect the film could be a spectacular flop... not sure why and I'm rather hoping that it won't be... just got this gut feeling.
But that could be chillis...
I can't really see anyone but Trekkie's being interested in this new movie. I think Star Trek should be left alone.
I don't really think this new Star Trek film is going to suddenly re invent anything, I see this one movie doing OK but not great and that'll be it.
Star Trek canon states that it was built in the San Francisco Yards orbiting Earth... but I digress - there could be easy ways to "fix" this tidbit.
I'm hopeful for the film. I love Trek, and I love J.J. Abrams.
Maybe this ship is getting built in space but in a big hangar so it's not in a vacuum like the drydock we seen in Star Trek-The Motion Picture ?!
It could be but the dry dock's we've seen in the past tend to be in space not enclosed. Also I imagine this might be just for the teaser anyway and not actually be part of the final film !!!!
According to (and I pray that this is false) the Aint It Cool web site, it is being built in area 51. I hope that's just a false rumor.
Area 51 ? That sounds a bit duff. They'll be saying it's built with Alien technology from the Roswell spaceship next !
