Looks like the film has little to do with the story of the superb novel by Richard Matheson. Already filmed twice as 1964's The Last Man on Earth and The Omega Man in 1971. Ridley Scott was going to film a new version in the late 90's but fell through due to the size of the budget, not too sure why though if anyone has read the book, it's a very low budget tale.

One of my all time favorite books by one of my all time favorite writers.
Not too keen on the use of a mangled variation of the Clint Mansell track used for the LotR: Two Towers trailer.
I've read the book and the book was amazing. Don't really NEED to see the film. I think the only similarity between the book and the film will likely be the name of the main character and the fact that he has a dog.
Other than that ... nice car.
There's no Ben Cortman in the cast list either... hmmm.
Okay...I have not read the book. From this side of it, it looks like it could be interesting. I sometimes feel like Hollywood has so totally run out of ideas that they try to mash two or three concepts together, find a hit novel that loosely resembles some fraction of their mangled mess and then buys the rights so that people will watch it thinking that they are going to see something cool based on a book they love.
Apparently the aim was to remake the last film rather than film the book. Shame really, it's a wonderful book and it would be nice to see more of it used in the film.
Someone is earning too much money to trawl through books and stuff to see what ticks the big budget boxes Allen, Moore's LOEG fell foul of that.
Yeah. It had so much potential and some great actors. Then it went all stinky. I have a feeling that the same thing will happen with the Watchmen, though I was never really a big fan of that comic.
I'll have to give the book a go, I know it's still in print as I seen it the other week in Borders. Movie looks Ok but looks a bit 28 Days later from the trailer.
