I suppose RTD see Doctor Who as what it is, a family show so he's trying to appeal to everyone in some respects . Mind you Catherine Tate was going a bit too far.

Hating her is the 'popular' bit. It's a trend. I'm damn near convinced of it. I've found that most people who hate her, tend to say 'she's in the Catherine Tate Show, she's so annoying in that'. Given the shows title though it makes you wonder about how these people organize their evenings viewing.
