He'd have more time if he stopped messing about with the 47th Director's Cut of Blade Runner!

Maybe his brother Tony will do the next cut for him.

I'd love to see him do one too. The only thing is I don't think he's quite the same director as he used to be. He still makes good films, I really enjoyed American Gangster. I think though that he took on board a lot of the criticism he used to get about caring more about how the films looked than the acting and as a result his newer films are less visually interesting and a bit more mainstream. I think the criticism was rubbish too especially when you look at Blade Runner, it has career best performances from pretty much everyone in it.

I'd love Ridley to make another SF movie too but, alas, time is against him. I haven't been to see a film of his at the cinema since "Legend"!

I'd say Ridley Scott is more of a visualist than a great director, Alien and Blade Runner wouldn't be great movies if it wasn't for Ridley Scott's sense of art direction, photography etc... and the only thing that saves Legend is the same flair for superb production design. He's done some very average movies also that have been visually a treat, 1492 and Kingdom of Heaven.
If he hadn't been a director he'd have been an amazing production designer or director of photography.
I'd just love to see how he'd do an SF film now, as along with 2001 and Star Wars he practically invented the look of modern SF and there's a lot of newer movies that don't look as good.
People have mentioned him doing another Alien film, had we only had Alien and Aliens I might have said yes but now they've screwed up the whole thing I hope he doesn't.
I'd love to see him make 'War of the Worlds' in the Victorian era in England where it was meant to be set. Or take a crack at Joe Haldeman's 'The Forever War'

70? Geez. How time flies. Just bought the new edition of Bladerunner as a Christmas present for my wife (shhh!). If he could make another film of that calibre... that would be a fine way to bow out.

Ridley's worked on some rather peculiar films in recent years, it's weird in the beginning he tackled certain genres and pretty much reinvented visual film making, they where mostly overlooked or bombed in the cinema only to become iconic classics, however both Gladiator and the much over looked Black Hawk Down are amazing both in vision and direction...I do disagree with the possible Alien 5 thou, his idea was completey Alien to where the franchise went and would pretty much tell a whole new story and not just a rehash
