Never seen it but I remember not being able to open a Starlog or any other film mag in the 80's without seeing it mentioned somewhere. Is it like all the other fantasy/sf films from Europe at the time and total pants?
I think i lost a lung laughing at Battle Beyond the Stars.
Hey hey, that sounds dangerously like dissing BBTS!!? Come on, classsic lines like 'Have you ever seen a Valkirie go down' make it a nudge nudge classic. Didn't James Cameron do the FX for it before Escape From New York?
I'm not dissing BBTS I love it. :) James Cameron designed some of the ships and the interiors and also did some of the FX work on this and a few other Roger Corman movies around that time.
So much stuff all jumbled together: 'Star Wars', 'Flash Gordon', 'Barbarella', 'Star Wars', '2001' AND ' Jason and the Argonauts' --- PLUS Hasslehoff AND the Other Half of 'The Sound of Music'! FAB!!
i totally remember this being released here in the states in the late 70s. i was juts a kid and i couldn't tell the difference between Star Crash and Star Wars. i remember looking at the poster at a movie threater for a matinee of Star Wars.

Just came across this flick in Paris - didn't realise it was Italian. It has David Hasselhoff in it right?

Starcrash makes Battle Beyond the Stars look like 2001:A Space Odyssey.
I think it looks amazing!
